Our Mission
The NYS Black Women for Harris/Walz Organizing Committee is a powerful statewide coalition dedicated to educating, motivating, and activating voters across New York State. We are committed to engaging Black women and communities to ensure a robust turnout for Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and other Democratic candidates in the top five targeted Congressional races and critical down-ballot races. Through collective action, we strive to amplify the voices of Black women in the political process and foster civic empowerment.
Our mission is to build a unified movement that champions progressive leadership and policies that uplift our communities. By harnessing our collective strength and advocating for the Democratic platform, we seek to secure victories that protect our rights, promote equality, and create opportunities for Black women and all marginalized groups across the state.

About Kamala Harris
A Record of Success
As Vice President, Harris has been a key partner to President Biden, standing up against extremists, defending reproductive freedom, and taking on Big Pharma to lower prescription drug costs. And under the Biden-Harris administration, the U.S. economy has created nearly 16 million new jobs, invested over $1 trillion in infrastructure, strengthened the Affordable Care Act, and enacted historic gun safety reforms.
In the U.S. Senate, Harris led on key legislation to raise wages, lower costs for families, and fought for criminal justice reform, climate action, and election security.
As California's Attorney General, she secured $20 billion for homeowners during the Great Recession, won a $1.1 billion settlement for students and veterans scammed by for-profit colleges, and fought for marriage equality nationwide.
As District Attorney in San Francisco, she initiated the "Back on Track" program, a national model for reducing recidivism rates by providing first-time drug offenders with opportunities to earn high school diplomas and gain employment.
About Tim Walz
A Proven Fighter for People’s Rights
As Governor, Walz protected women’s right to choose by codifying abortion rights in Minnesota.
Walz fought to lower the cost of insulin, cut taxes for working families, and eliminate junk fees.
Walz has worked to increase funding for police departments with a focus on community-based policing and transparency through body cameras.
By establishing universal background checks for gun purchases, Walz has taken major steps to address gun violence.
As a former teacher and coach, Walz’s commitment to education, particularly in underfunded and rural areas.
